Mompreneurs WW: How did the idea of starting it come about and who inspired you?
Rasheda: I’ve always been into wellness and personal development. Fortunately I had a great mentor at the start of my career at age 18. I chased success and money and got it, but then I fell sick. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and was given 6 weeks to live. What I realized in that moment was success and money had no value in the end, the only thing that mattered was how you experienced your life, your best memories and the people you shared with. So I began my quest and in fact made it my mission in life to help people live the best version of themselves until their last hour.
As a qualified financial advisor for over 15 years I realized 3 things: 1) Not having enough money impacts every area of your life negatively and 2) 95% of people are stuck in their financial track because of their beliefs, psychology and language around money. Most people are stressed over it that they either don’t start, go through it blindly or get entangled in products are services that don’t match their needs and 3) Health is your number 1 wealth. So I developed workshops and 1:2:1 consulting sessions just focusing on emotions, psychology and mindset. I found that this was the key to building wealth and keeping it.
As financial distress is the number 1 stress factor worldwide, we extended our offer to corporations so they can target the actual cause of stress of their employees to create more positive and productive work environments.
Mompreneurs WW: What is the best part of what you do and the toughest?
Rasheda: The difference we make to peoples lives and the way they live. Actually the best is that we help to change the generations to come.
The toughest would be – the logistics of running a business!
Mompreneurs WW: How many kids do you have and how old are they?
Rasheda: One son. He is 3.
Mompreneurs WW: How do you juggle work and life balance?
Rasheda: I stopped looking for balance and realized if I could get through the day with a positive result and closer to my goal it was a perfect day. I have a weekly and daily planner and don’t really separate my business and personal to do’s. I know at the end of the week I want to get to there and then hustle through the week the best I can. As long as you find moments of joy, laughter and fun in between you are on the right path.
Mompreneurs WW: What’s a book you always recommend and why?
Rasheda: The 5 languages of love. Everything starts with understanding yourself. Ultimately life is about the people you shared it with. This book will help you create amazingly connected relationships.
Mompreneurs WW: What advice would you give a Mompreneur who was just starting out?
Rasheda: Stay focused on why you are doing what you are doing. As in, what does it ultimately give you – financial freedom to live the life you want, time with family, serving others. Be very clear why and what this is all for. Now use it as your decision making asset. Let it help you make all descions in your business. Your only question is, “does this bring me closer to my ultimate goal?” if it doesn’t don’t do it.
Mompreneurs WW: Your favorite quote is…
Rasheda: “It’s not the years in your life, it’s the life in your years.”
